We are so excited for this year’s JFL NorthWest, Vancouver’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, which returns to our city this month from February 14th – 23rd, 2019. Attendees can look forward to 10 days of stand-up, podcast, improv & hilarious sketch performances. In addition to the comedy-packed schedule, JFL NorthWest will also be hosting the 2nd edition of the Vancouver Just for Laughs Film Festival and 3-Day Block Party.

Attracting almost 50,000 participants each year, the city route goes from the heart of downtown, through the West End, over the Burrard Street Bridge, and ends in BC Place Stadium.


One of the many great things about this run is all the live music that is stationed along the route, not to mention the spring weather which is usually crisp & perfect. Along with the 10km course, you’ll also have the option of walking or taking a shorter 2.5km course, PLUS there’s a wheelchair division!

2) BMO Vancouver Marathon

The BMO Vancouver Marathon on May 5th is rated as one of the top travel destination marathons in the world – certainly worth training for! The route takes runners along iconic beaches, parks & the world-famous Vancouver Seawall. Runners will also enjoy spectacular mountain range views of North Vancouver, along with the lush greenery of Stanley Park.

As an alternative to the full marathon, there are options to sign up for a half marathon, an 8-kilometre run or the kids’ run.

3) SeaWheeze Half Marathon

The 21km run will begin in downtown to Kitsilano, followed by Stanley Park and all along the picturesque Seawall – the world’s longest uninterrupted waterfront path. It’s an absolutely stunning run & it’s no wonder that people from all around the world fly to Vancouver just to participate in this fun half marathon!

Our favorite activity at Christmas! There’s just so much to do at Grouse Mountain, with skating, reindeer, gingerbread houses, sleigh rides, the light tunnel and meeting Santa. And of course, there’s skiing, snowshoeing & snowboarding. DEFINITELY not to be missed.

Vancouver Christmas Market

Vancouver Christmas Market has been a beloved holiday tradition for locals and visitors alike for almost a decade. The Vancouver Christmas Market features more than 80 huts of sweets, treats, and treasures in authentic German-style. It’s located downtown right by the waterfront at Jack Poole Plaza. It’s a nice walk from any of the hotels in downtown Vancouver.

Bright Nights Christmas Train at Stanley Park

During the holiday season, the Bright Nights Christmas Train and Stanley Park Train Plaza sparkle with three million twinkling lights! This is one of the best & most affordable Christmas activities to do in Vancouver. Donations at the front gate and a portion of ticket sales go to the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, to help burn survivors and their families. Bright Nights is open Thursday, November 29 to Saturday, January 5.

Singing Christmas Tree

The Singing Christmas Tree is a free event which takes place over the course of six days (leading up to Christmas)! It involves a cast, choir and support staff of over 250 volunteers, and the stage features a giant Christmas tree with 10 levels from which over 80 members of the choir perform! The show involves singing by the choir, solo performances, mini-skits, acrobatics, dancers and even people floating down from the ceiling.

Singing Christmas Tree performances in 2018 are on December 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16. Here is more information on what to expect. Hope to see you there!
