The Beaty Biodiversity Museum was founded in 2010. It is a natural history museum housing over two million specimens, including a very impressive 25-metre skeleton of a blue whale. It is located at the University of British Columbia.

4. Burnaby Village Museum
The Burnaby Village Museum has been open since 1971. It is a reconstructed 1920s village and an open-air museum, with 31 buildings and even a restored 1912 carousel. It is located at the popular Deer Lake Park, in Burnaby.

3. Britannia Mine Museum
The Britannia Mine Museum has been open since 1975. The museum is a historic site with thousands of artifacts, photos, documents and maps. It’s located about 50 km (30 miles) north of Vancouver, along the way to Squamish.

2. Museum of Anthropology at UBC
The Museum of Anthropology (MOA) has been around since 1927 but was only officially established in 1947. It is world-famous for its collections from around the globe of indigenous and First Nations art. MOA contains over half a million archaeological objects and is located right within the University of British Columbia.
